Creating Content during Coronavirus

As coronavirus continues to be at the forefront of everyone’s lives, brands have been forced to navigate the pandemic and find new ways to keep their consumers interested whilst being sympathetic to the situation.

However, we find ourselves in a situation where we seem to be so focused on responding to the crisis that everyone’s content marketing seems to be very similar. Right now, online content can be very powerful, but how do we stand out and what should we be creating during this time?

We’ve put together our 4 top tips to create content during the pandemic:

  • Remain focussed on your audience's needs right now. No one wants to see or hear about this season's in-store beauty treatments, but a how-to tutorial on home facials might be enough to entice them in your brand's direction.

  • Aim to deliver value— instead of pushing the promotion of products and services, focus above all else on being helpful and do not appear to be capitalising on the pandemic.

  • Be prepared and create content that is easily adaptable to a situation that is constantly evolving.

  • Be proactive and plan content for the post covid future, but make sure it’s not inappropriate or insensitive.

In summary, Content can be an effective way for you to remain in touch with your customers during the coronavirus pandemic. With the ever-changing landscape during this time, communicating and engaging with your audience can remain undisrupted, no matter what the situation is – as long as you have the appropriate content strategies in place.
