Top Tips for Working From Home

We’re all doing it right now- setting up in the spare room or dining table, trying to keep some sort of routine to your work day, so one week into the new way of working, here are our top tips.

Top Tips on working from home:

  • Keep to office timings- Make sure you’re set up at your make shift work space at 9am or whenever you start and try to stick to the hours of work- this will keep you focused and make you less likely for you to waste the day. 

  • Create a light, tidy work space- use the dining table, coffee table or whatever you have to set up your space and ensure the windows are open to get some fresh air through the space. As tempting as it is to work from bed this is an awful idea as before you know it you’ll be napping your day away...

  • Go for a walk at lunchtime- just as you would if you were in the office make sure you get some fresh air and change of scenery to keep your mind awake. Even if it’s a quick 10 minute walk to a local park go outside and get some lovely fresh air and make the most of it!

  • Have frequent conference calls with your team- firstly to make sure everyone’s happy with what they’re doing but also, to be honest it’s just nice to have a conversation whilst you’re in isolation!

  • Use the time wisely- If you’re a commuter then chances are you’re saving an hour or so

  • Keep calm and carry on- As stereotypically British as it sounds, this strange phase won’t last forever so try to remain calm, work hard and of course wash your hands.
