Working From Home as a Creative Agency

Just like the rest of the UK right now Pocket Motion Pictures are working from home for the next few weeks and social distancing from the rest of London. This is obviously going to help stop the spread of COVID-19 but it does mean that the whole team are split up and must learn how to keep up momentum whilst being apart.

So just how does a creative agency work from home?

What happens to the video shoots? The editing? The internal meetings for upcoming briefs? Well, hear from the people who know best- our team.

Producer

A large part of my day surrounds planning the logistics of upcoming shoots, this can be booking crew, finding studios, creating call sheets and liaising with the client to ensure that the brief is met to the highest of standard. So when there are no shoots I have to take a step back to move forward. One main element of this is using our business development resources to reach out to new clients to inform them of our ability to carry on during this crazy time.

We are actually looking into a new area of live-streaming for clients who are hosting events which are still going ahead as live-streaming allows audiences to experience the event without having to leave the house. Another area I’m working on is checking in with past clients who are in the awkward situation of wanting to create video but can’t get out to shoots due to the isolation- for these clients we’re offering to re-edit past work to make it fresh and relevant (but our editors will tell you more about this...)

This time has also allowed PMP to plan ahead for future meetings we have planned- whilst these may not be able to happen in person we’re using Zoom’s video conference tool to host meetings online which is a great way for businesses to carry on. If you’re looking for some advice on creating content during these times don’t hesitate to get in touch.
